The age to wean swaddling differs from one child to the next.
At 4-5 months old, many babies start making much more controlled movements. Just think of gripping objects and pulling up. This shows that your baby is getting a handle on those uncontrolled reflexes and movements.
Around 5-6 months baby usually starts to roll over. This is your cue to start weaning your baby off swaddling. If your baby starts to roll over at an earlier age you can also stop swaddling sooner.
Your baby doesn’t try to roll over yet at 6 months or are you having trouble weaning your baby? There’s nothing to worry about, just give it some time. Every baby is different and goes through this phase at its own pace.
The Puckababy Mini was specifically developed to make weaning easier. Thanks to the zippers at arm height your little one can sleep with its arms out but without losing the sense of security of the cocoon. This is a very useful intermediate step from swaddling to regular sleeping.
